IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician | Chicago, Illinois

An opportunity exists for an experienced IV Pharmacy Technician in Chicago, IL, specializing in sterile compounding within a cleanroom environment. This full-time, contract-to-hire position requires a strong background in preparing sterile IV medications and compounding a variety of IV solutions, including antibiotics, hydration fluids, minibags, and syringes. The role is essential to maintaining high-quality medication preparation while adhering to strict aseptic techniques and USP guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and compounding sterile IV medications in a controlled cleanroom setting
• Compounding IV antibiotics, hydration solutions, minibags, syringes, and other sterile products
• Following aseptic techniques according to sterile compounding procedures
• Accurately labeling, packaging, and preparing medications for dispensing
• Assisting with prescription filling and data entry tasks as needed
• Ensuring cleanroom standards are consistently maintained in compliance with USP guidelines

Desired qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of recent hands-on IV sterile compounding experience
• Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• Proven experience in a sterile compounding cleanroom environment
• In-depth knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile preparation procedures
• PTCB certification and Sterile Compounding Certificate are preferred but not mandatory
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
