Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Cicero, Illinois
This position offers a unique opportunity to work as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient hospital environment, supporting both inpatient operations and sterile compounding activities. With a focus on delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services, you will be instrumental in preparing IV admixtures, compounding batches, and ensuring medication availability through efficient crash cart and automated cart management.
Location: Cicero, IL
Type: Contract (13 weeks, with intent to hire)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, rotating shifts:
- 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
- 2:30 PM 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounds and maintain the clean room environment in compliance with regulations.
- Compound batches and prepare IV admixtures safely and accurately.
- Manage and prepare crash carts and Omnicell/auto cart fill systems.
- Support inpatient pharmacy technician duties, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to meet patient medication needs promptly.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
- PTCB certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding, with chemotherapy compounding experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner inpatient pharmacy systems is an asset.
