Pharmacy Technician | Clearwater, Florida

A contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support a mail order pharmacy setting in Clearwater, FL. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with recent pharmacy technician experience who thrives in an office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections efficiently.
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of prescription processing, including data entry, shipment scheduling, patient eligibility verification, and prescriber communication for refills.
• Manage inbound and outbound patient-related calls with professionalism.
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions as assigned by management.
• Contact healthcare providers to request new prescriptions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida is required.
• National certification (PTCB, NHA, ExCPT) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Recent experience as a pharmacy technician in retail, closed door, mail order, or long-term care settings.
• Local candidates residing near Clearwater, FL, preferred.
• Highest level of education (HS, GED, Bachelors, etc.) must be detailed on the resume.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

This contract position is set for 13 weeks with potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. The start date is approximately two weeks following the offer acceptance.
