IV Sterile Compounding Inpatient Pharmacy Technician - Des Plaines, IL
An established inpatient hospital is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support both the inpatient operations and sterile compounding clean room environments. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with the intent for hire, providing an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians looking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic clinical setting.
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, rotating shifts: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, and 2:30 PM 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hospital inpatient pharmacy technician duties, including preparing medications and supporting pharmacy operations.
- Compound sterile IV admixtures and batches with a strong focus on accuracy and safety in a clean room setting.
- Prepare and restock crash carts and Omnicell automated medication dispensing systems.
- Facilitate auto cart filling and ensure timely availability of medications.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required.
- PTCB certification mandatory.
- Proven experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in sterile compounding; chemotherapy compounding experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems will be beneficial.
