IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Downers Grove, Illinois

A full-time IV Pharmacy Technician role is available in Chicago, IL, offering an opportunity to apply strong sterile compounding skills in a cleanroom setting. This contract-to-hire position requires hands-on experience preparing sterile IV medications such as antibiotics, hydration solutions, minibags, and syringes. Candidates will work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, supporting a dynamic pharmacy team with accurate medication preparation and adherence to aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compound sterile IV medications in compliance with USP guidelines within a cleanroom environment.
• Compound various sterile preparations, including IV antibiotics, hydration solutions, minibags, and syringes.
• Accurately label, package, and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Assist with prescription filling and data entry as needed.
• Maintain strict cleanroom standards and follow proper aseptic techniques consistently.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent hands-on IV compounding experience is mandatory.
• Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Demonstrated experience working in sterile compounding cleanrooms.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile preparation procedures.
• PTCB certification and Sterile Compounding Certificate preferred but not required.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9 AM6 PM.
• Background in hospital, home infusion, or specialty infusion pharmacy highly preferred.

This assignment starts immediately and runs for approximately 7 weeks with the potential to transition to a permanent role. Competitive pay based on experience is offered.
