Retail Pharmacy Technician in Dublin, OH

Support complex patient care in a specialty retail pharmacy environment focused on serving individuals managing multiple chronic conditions. This role requires a pharmacy technician with a strong background in retail and specialty pharmacy settings, exceptional communication skills, and a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable populations.

Location: Dublin, OH
Job Type: Contract (8 weeks, with potential contract-to-hire)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no weekends)
Start: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients prescribed 8-15 medications daily, often managing complex regimens.
• Communicate clearly and patiently with patients who have chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure medication safety and adherence.
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software to process prescriptions and maintain accurate patient records (prior experience preferred; training available).
• Provide compassionate support to Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many with low literacy, ensuring they understand their medication regimens.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Proven experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician, particularly handling chronic illness patient populations.
• Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail medications, including managing complex therapy combinations.
• Exceptional patient communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work patiently and empathetically with advanced chronic disease patients.
• Previous exposure to Pioneer Rx software is advantageous but not mandatory.
