Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Evanston, Illinois
This opportunity seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient hospital operations and sterile compounding activities. The role blends hands-on involvement in preparing IV admixtures in a clean room setting with pharmacy technician responsibilities, including managing inventory and crash carts. This 13-week contract offers the possibility of permanent hire, presenting a chance to demonstrate expertise in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
- PTCB certification.
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience.
- Strong background in sterile compounding, including batch compounding.
- Experience with chemotherapy compounding is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy systems such as Cerner, Omnicell, and auto cart fill processes.
Location:
- Based in Evanston, Illinois, within a well-established inpatient hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded products, including chemotherapy admixtures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties such as preparing and stocking crash carts.
- Manage automated medication dispensing systems and accurately fill carts.
- Work collaboratively across shifts to maintain smooth inpatient pharmacy operations.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday with rotating shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM.
- Rotating weekend shifts required.
