An outpatient pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support daily retail operations in a contract-to-hire role. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., utilizing the Pioneer RX computer system within a fast-paced hospital outpatient pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities include accurately processing medication orders and prescriptions, packaging and dispensing pre-manufactured dosage forms, and operating storage and preparation systems in compliance with health system policies. You will assist pharmacists by providing patient, physician, and nursing education, as well as retrieving timely drug information. Collecting patient-specific data to aid in designing and monitoring safe and cost-effective pharmacotherapy is also a critical element of this role. Additional duties include managing medication reconciliation, controlled substances handling, and pharmaceutical purchasing.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience
Prior hospital outpatient pharmacy experience
Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing
Valid Illinois pharmacy technician license

Location: Evanston, IL
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
