IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician in Fairport, NY
A contract-to-hire opportunity is available for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to work a Monday through Friday day shift from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This role requires a detail-oriented technician to support sterile medication preparation, inventory management, quality assurance, and compliance activities in a regulated pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded medications accurately following all SOPs and regulatory standards
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and documentation accuracy during medication preparation and labeling
- Manage inventory control and ensure adequate supplies are on hand for daily operations
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure patient safety and therapeutic outcomes
- Participate in quality assurance procedures and maintain compliance with pharmacy policies
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in good standing
- Proven experience in sterile compounding within a regulated pharmacy setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy
- Ability to follow compliance standards and pharmacy SOPs consistently
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management
- Stable work history with no significant employment gaps
- Team-oriented with a patient-first focus
Preferred Experience:
- PTCB certification and completion of formal pharmacy technician training program
- Background in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or IV pharmacy environments
- Hands-on experience with sterile admixture preparation, labeling, and dispensing
- Inventory management and supply control knowledge
