Pharmacy Technician in Framingham, MA

A remote Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available for experienced professionals holding current PTCB certification. This role involves supporting Medicare Part B utilization management through prior authorization processing and collaboration with healthcare providers.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM 8:00 PM ET and 9:30 AM 6:00 PM ET shifts
• Mandatory rotating weekends
• No days off from 01/01/2027 to 03/31/2027 except emergencies
  Duration: 6-month contract (10/01/2026 03/31/2027)

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and process prior authorization requests using established policies and decision trees
• Triage and enter incoming prior authorization requests from provider offices
• Support Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies
• Obtain clinical documentation from providers and hospitals for authorization reviews
• Communicate authorization decisions and follow up with providers and members
• Assist members and providers in identifying alternative treatment options when necessary
• Provide operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to ensure timely, accurate decisions
• Act as a point of contact for internal teams, external providers, and operational partners
• Support offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management pharmacy workflows
• Interpret plan benefits and enter specialty pharmacy overrides to support proper claim adjudication

Qualifications:

• Active PTCB certification required
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Proven experience with Medicare Part B operations, including utilization management, prior authorizations, medical benefits, or pharmacy help desk operations
• Experience working with the Medicare population preferred
• Proficient with multiple computer systems and Google Workspace/G Suite
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Prior utilization management and prior authorization experience highly desired
