Long Term Care Mail Order Pharmacy Technician in Hazleton, PA

This opportunity is tailored for an experienced Pharmacy Technician skilled in Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environments. The position is a contract role based in Hazleton, PA, offering a 12-week assignment with a schedule designed to support operational needs and patient care.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating weekends, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Fill prescriptions accurately and prepare intravenous medications.
• Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter data for prescription fulfillment and reimbursement processing.
• Operate under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to prepackage medications in compliance with standards and regulations.
• Support the Pharmacist in final prescription checks, including preparing medication for final review, packaging, and coordinating its timely delivery to customers.
• Assist Pharmacy Management with inventory control by receiving and rotating medications, maintaining records of lot numbers and expiration dates, and supporting physical inventory counts.
• Partner with the Technician Supervisor to maintain a clean, safe workspace and ensure equipment calibration, safety, and cleanliness.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Familiarity with Long Term Care and Mail Order pharmacy settings is highly advantageous.
• Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license.
