This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician to join a respected health systems outpatient pharmacy team supporting prescription prior authorizations. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to review and manage prior authorization requests efficiently and accurately, ensuring patients receive timely access to their medications.

Location: Lansdale, PA (Onsite training in Philadelphia, PA, transitioning to fully remote work)
Assignment Type: Local Contract, Temp-To-Hire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule:

  • MondayFriday
  • 8:00 AM5:00 PM
  • 40 guaranteed hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and complete pharmacy benefit manager prior authorization forms
  • Review and transfer prescription, prescriber, and patient information from the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Analyze patient charts and clinical documentation to accurately complete authorization requests
  • Submit, track, and follow up on prior authorizations within required timeframes
  • Communicate status updates to pharmacy and clinical teams regarding approvals, denials, and outstanding requests
  • Maintain thorough and precise documentation of all prior authorization activities
  • Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, providers, and outpatient pharmacy staff
  • Utilize ICD-10 codes, drug information, and disease-specific resources to support authorization processes
  • Meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality standards
  • Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office and remote work technology

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
  • Minimum three years of pharmacy technician experience
  • Three to five years of experience in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment highly preferred
  • At least one year of prior authorization experience required
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems
  • Strong skills in data entry, communication, organization, and follow-up
  • Ability to work independently in a metric-driven environment
  • Professional demeanor, dependability, and dedication to high-quality patient care

This position begins with onsite training in Philadelphia for approximately 812 weeks before transitioning to fully remote work, offering flexibility once established.
