Home Infusion Pharmacy Technician | Liverpool, New York
A direct hire opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join a dynamic pharmacy team specializing in home infusion services. This position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering a consistent weekday schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pharmacists by coordinating daily pharmacy operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of services.
- Process prescriptions, enter orders, and complete related documentation under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and compound sterile medications and pharmaceutical products, strictly adhering to applicable laws, USP standards, accreditation requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain clean room environments, pharmacy equipment, and infusion devices to uphold regulatory compliance and patient safety.
- Conduct and document quality assurance and control activities to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Manage pharmacy inventory including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinate patient medication, supply, and equipment refills, deliveries, and service logistics to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate patient, pharmacy, and operational records within electronic health information systems.
- Provide professional customer service by communicating effectively with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and internal teams, escalating clinical concerns as necessary.
- Support reimbursement and administrative functions by verifying authorizations, maintaining documentation, and assisting with records management.
- Generate and maintain operational, quality, and management reports while actively participating in performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid New York State Pharmacy Technician license.
- PTCB certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Completion of sterile compounding training.
- Strong knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use, and aseptic technique.
- Minimum of one year pharmacy technician experience preferred, with experience in sterile compounding, home infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings.
- Familiarity with USP and USP standards and practices.
