Inpatient Pharmacy Technician - Madison, WI

This opportunity offers a chance to utilize your pharmacy technician skills in an inpatient hospital environment, supporting critical medication management and patient care. The role involves working with advanced pharmacy automation systems and preparing sterile products essential for treatment.

Location: Richland Center, WI
Position Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
• 8 or 10-hour shifts available
• Every 4th weekend from 7:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Restocking Pyxis units and checking for medication outdates to ensure accuracy and safety
• Managing inventory, including ordering and receiving drug shipments
• Entering medication charges accurately
• Monitoring temperature controls for medication storage areas
• Preparing sterile products, including chemotherapy agents, following stringent cleanroom protocols
• Performing daily cleanroom maintenance to maintain a sterile environment
• Supporting other pharmacy tasks as assigned

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license
• Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings
• Skilled in sterile compounding procedures, particularly chemo preparation
• Proficient with Pyxis automation systems
