Home Infusion Pharmacy Technician in Manlius, NY
A growing home infusion pharmacy is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join their team in Manlius, NY. This direct hire opportunity offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a structured workweek that supports work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pharmacists by coordinating daily pharmacy operations and workflow to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of services.
- Process prescriptions, enter orders, and manage documentation under licensed pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare and compound sterile medications and pharmaceutical products in compliance with applicable laws, USP standards, accreditation requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain clean room environments, pharmacy equipment, and infusion devices to support regulatory compliance and patient safety.
- Conduct and document quality assurance and quality control activities in adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
- Manage pharmacy inventory including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring of medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinate patient medication, supply, and equipment refills, deliveries, and service logistics to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and complete records in electronic information management systems.
- Provide professional communication with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and internal departments, escalating clinical concerns as needed.
- Assist with reimbursement and administrative processes by verifying authorizations and maintaining documentation.
- Generate and maintain operational, quality, and management reports while contributing to performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current New York State pharmacy technician license.
- PTCB certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Completion of sterile compounding training.
- Strong knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use, aseptic technique, and USP standards.
- Previous sterile compounding experience in a home infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy setting preferred.
- Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, ideally in home infusion, sterile compounding, or specialty pharmacy.
