Pharmacy Technician | Marlborough, Massachusetts

A remote Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available with a leading healthcare organization on a temp-to-hire basis. This role supports Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies, playing a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate authorization decisions for providers and members.

Location: Remote (Candidates from any location considered)
Schedule:

• MondayFriday: 11:30 AM8:00 PM ET OR 9:30 AM6:00 PM ET
• Mandatory rotating weekends
• No days off except emergencies from 01/01/27 to 03/31/27
  Duration: 6-month contract (10/01/2603/31/27), temp-to-hire

Responsibilities:

• Review and process prior authorization requests using established policies and decision trees
• Triage and enter incoming prior authorization requests from provider offices
• Provide support for Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies
• Contact providers and hospitals to obtain necessary clinical documentation for authorization reviews
• Communicate authorization decisions and follow up with providers and members as needed
• Assist members and providers when alternative treatments are required
• Offer operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to facilitate prompt and accurate decisions
• Serve as a key contact for internal teams, external providers, and operational partners
• Support offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management pharmacy workflows
• Interpret plan benefits and enter specialty pharmacy overrides to ensure proper claim adjudication

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current PTCB certification is required
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Experience working with Medicare Part B operations, ideally in utilization management, prior authorizations, medical benefits, or pharmacy help desk
• Familiarity with the Medicare population
• Strong computer proficiency and comfort working across multiple systems including Google Workspace/G Suite
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Prior experience in utilization management and prior authorizations preferred
