Retail Pharmacy Technician - Oakland, CA

Pharmacy Technicians are needed for a registry role supporting a major level I trauma center hospital. This opportunity offers long-term, open-ended assignments working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment. The position provides flexibility, with an average of 24 hours per week and busy weeks reaching 40+ hours. Candidates should be available to work approximately 3 to 4 days weekly.

Location: Oakland, CA

Schedule:

• 8.5-hour shifts (including 30-minute lunch break)
• Shift start times vary: 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Responsibilities:

• Support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations
• Accurately prepare and dispense medications, adhering to hospital protocols
• Assist with IV medication preparation and compounding (preferred)
• Utilize pharmacy technology systems such as EPIC and Omnicell for order processing and inventory management
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure safe and efficient medication delivery
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in retail and/or hospital settings
• Exposure to hospital pharmacy practices, preferably including IV preparation
• Familiarity with EPIC and Omnicell systems highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills in a busy environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
