Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician in Orland Park, IL
This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician specializing in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations with a focus on sterile compounding. The role offers hands-on experience working within a fast-paced hospital environment, combining inpatient operational duties with clean room sterile compounding responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties including preparing and managing medication orders.
- Compound sterile admixtures in the clean room environment, including batch preparation.
- Prepare and maintain crash carts and support Omnicell and auto cart fill processes.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure accurate medication delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification required.
- Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
- Skilled in sterile compounding; chemotherapy compounding experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems is advantageous.
Location:
- Based in Orland Park, IL, within an inpatient hospital environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday with rotating shifts: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, and 2:30 PM 10:00 PM.
- Rotating weekend shifts required.
