Long Term Care Mail Order Pharmacy Technician in Philadelphia, PA
An opportunity exists for a Pharmacy Technician with experience in long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environments. This contract-to-hire position is based in Philadelphia, PA, offering a daytime schedule with some rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare IV medications under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
- Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data into the system and assist with reimbursement processes.
- Support the Pharmacist in final prescription verification including medication presentation and packaging.
- Assist in maintaining inventory controls by receiving and rotating medications, recording lot numbers and expiration dates, and aiding physical inventory counts.
- Ensure compliance with standards and government regulations in medication preparation and dispensing.
- Coordinate timely and accurate delivery of prescriptions to customers.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Rotating weekend shifts required
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior pharmacy technician experience required.
- Long-term care pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Pennsylvania pharmacy technician license is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work under supervision and adhere to regulatory standards.
