Inpatient Pharmacy Technician | Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin

This position offers the opportunity to work as a Pharmacy Technician within an inpatient hospital environment, focusing on comprehensive pharmacy support tasks. The role is based in the Prairie Du Chien, WI area on a 13-week contract, providing valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Location: Prairie Du Chien, WI
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (8 or 10-hour shifts)
• Every 4th weekend, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Restock and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Conduct outdate checks and restock medications, IVs, and supplies
• Enter charges accurately into the system
• Order and receive drug shipments, ensuring proper inventory levels
• Monitor storage temperatures to comply with safety standards
• Prepare sterile products and assist with chemotherapy preparation
• Perform daily cleaning duties in the cleanroom environment
• Additional pharmacy technician duties as assigned

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacy technician license
• Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy settings
• Skilled in sterile compounding procedures
• Familiarity with Pyxis automation systems

This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently while supporting the pharmacy team. The schedule supports work-life balance with a structured weekday routine and occasional weekend coverage.
