Retail Mail Order Pharmacy Technician | Riverview, Florida

This pharmacy technician position is a 13-week contract located in Clearwater, FL, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The role will start as soon as possible or within 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance. Candidates should be prepared to support both retail and mail-order pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions accurately, including insurance claim adjudications and resolving rejections
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification and shipment
• Perform data entry and manage prescription documentation while maintaining clear communication with patients and prescribers
• Conduct daily inventory management, including cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews
• Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures
• Cross-train in multiple pharmacy functions and provide support to departmental needs
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, with call center experience preferred
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills with excellent time management
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and internal teams
