Retail Pharmacy Technician - Roanoke, Virginia

Seeking a Certified Retail Pharmacy Technician to support a mail order pharmacy operation in Roanoke, VA. This contract role lasts 13 weeks, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with an immediate start. As a Pharm Tech III, you will play a critical part in processing prescription orders and ensuring smooth pharmacy workflow under the supervision of the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret sig codes, select appropriate products, and process prescription refills accurately
• Perform data entry, insurance verification, and resolve claim rejections efficiently
• Prepare, label, and package medications for pharmacist review and approval
• Manage inventory through cycle counts and handle returns to maintain stock accuracy
• Respond to inbound and outbound patient calls as well as prescriber requests professionally
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and CCS guidelines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting
• Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification mandatory
• Strong communication, multitasking, and time management abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment
