Pharmacy Technician in Roanoke, VA

A Certified Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available for a 13-week contract in an office setting located in Roanoke, VA, with the potential for extension or temp-to-hire. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a start date approximately two weeks after the job offer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions efficiently, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve rejections promptly.
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Perform data entry, handle prescription paperwork, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers.
• Maintain precise inventory control through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
• Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures.
• Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support overall department needs.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and insurance regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Highest level of education (HS, GED, Bachelors, etc.) must be included on your resume.
• License/Certification: Must be a registered pharmacy technician in Virginia, holding national certification such as PTCB, NHA, or Excpt.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of recent pharmacy technician experience in retail, closed door, mail order, or long-term care settings (hospital experience not required).
