Long Term Care Mail Order Pharmacy Technician in Rochester, MI

A pharmacy technician position is available on a 7-week contract with four openings in a Long-Term Care (LTC) Mail Order environment. This role involves rotating shifts between days and evenings, specifically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous (IV) medications accurately.
• Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data and facilitate reimbursement processes.
• Operate under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist for prepackaging medications in compliance with regulations.
• Assist in the final verification of filled prescriptions, including medication presentation for pharmacist review and packaging after approval.
• Support pharmacy management in maintaining inventory controls, including receiving shipments, rotating stock, recording lot numbers and expiration dates, and participating in physical inventories.
• Work with the Technician Supervisor to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained workspace by monitoring equipment calibration, safety, and cleanliness.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of one year experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Prior experience in long-term care pharmacy is advantageous.
• Sterile compounding and IV preparation experience is a plus.
• Hold a valid Michigan pharmacy technician license.
