IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician | Rochester, New York

Position Type:
- Contract to Hire (direct hire possibility for strong candidates)
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound sterile medications in compliance with regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Accurately label, package, and dispense compounded medications
- Manage inventory and supply controls to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Maintain thorough documentation to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to support patient care
- Uphold pharmacy safety, hygiene, and quality standards through rigorous attention to detail
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in good standing
- Proven sterile compounding experience in infusion, specialty, hospital, or IV pharmacy environments
- Strong record of accuracy with attention to detail and documentation integrity
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to follow strict SOPs and quality processes
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to patient safety and care
- Stable employment history with no significant gaps
Preferred Credentials:
- PTCB certification
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training/certification program
- Familiarity with home infusion, specialty pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or IV admixture preparation
- Experience in inventory control and medication fulfillment processes
