Pharmacy Technician - Saint Petersburg, Florida

This Pharmacy Technician role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced mail order pharmacy office setting for a 13-week contract with potential extension or conversion to temp-to-hire. The position is based in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, starting approximately two weeks after the offer is accepted.

Responsibilities include processing and filling prescriptions efficiently, managing inventory, handling insurance claims and adjudications, and assisting with medication packing and shipping. You will be responsible for data entry, creating shipment schedules, verifying insurance and patient eligibility, contacting prescribers for refills or new prescriptions, and answering both inbound and outbound patient-related calls. Cross-training in various pharmacy functions is encouraged to develop a comprehensive skill set.

Key Duties:

• Process prescriptions, resolve insurance rejections, and perform adjudications
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification
• Manage refill requests and coordinate with prescribers
• Maintain accurate records and queues related to prescription processing
• Respond to inbound patient inquiries and make outbound calls as needed
• Support pharmacy operations through cross-functional training

Qualifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida (required)
• National certification (PTCB, NHA, EXCPT) preferred but not mandatory
• Recent experience as a pharmacy technician in retail, mail order, closed-door, or long-term care settings
• Local candidates only
• Education level (HS diploma, GED, or higher) clearly stated on resume
