Long Term Care Mail Order Pharmacy Technician in Scranton, PA
This position offers an opportunity for a skilled Pharmacy Technician to contribute in a Long Term Care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environment. The role involves working under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to ensure accurate dispensing and preparation of medications while supporting operational and regulatory compliance.
Location: Scranton, PA
Job Type: Contract (12 weeks)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
- Rotating weekends, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous (IV) medications in adherence to pharmacy standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to accurately enter data for prescription processing and reimbursement purposes.
- Prepackage medications under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, following government requirements.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the final verification of filled prescriptions, including packaging and coordinating timely delivery to customers.
- Support inventory management by receiving medications, tracking lot numbers and expiration dates, and participating in physical inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensure equipment calibration, and uphold safety protocols under the guidance of the Technician Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician experience is required.
- Experience in Long Term Care and Mail Order pharmacy settings is highly desirable.
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
