Home Infusion Pharmacy Technician | Syracuse, New York
This direct hire opportunity calls for a skilled Pharmacy Technician specializing in home infusion and sterile compounding to support pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, in Syracuse, NY.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in New York
- PTCB certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Completion of sterile compounding training
- Proficient knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and aseptic technique
- Experience with sterile compounding in home infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings
- Familiarity with USP standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Minimum one year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, especially in sterile compounding or home infusion
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily pharmacy operations and assist pharmacists to ensure timely, safe, and effective delivery of pharmacy services
- Process prescriptions, enter orders, and maintain documentation under pharmacist supervision
- Prepare and compound sterile medications following all relevant laws, standards, and policies
- Maintain clean room environments and careful handling of pharmacy equipment and infusion devices
- Conduct quality assurance and control processes, documenting compliance with standards
- Manage pharmacy inventory including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medications and supplies
- Coordinate medication refills, deliveries, and logistics to support patient care continuity
- Maintain accurate patient, pharmacy, and operational records using electronic systems
- Provide professional communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, escalating clinical concerns when needed
- Support administrative and reimbursement processes through proper documentation and record-keeping
- Generate reports on operations, quality, and performance, participating in improvement initiatives
