Retail Pharmacy Technician | Vinton, Virginia

A Certified Retail Pharmacy Technician role is open within a mail order pharmacy setting, offering a contract engagement in Vinton, VA. This position operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and spans approximately 13 weeks, with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret sig codes, select appropriate products, and process prescription refills.
• Perform detailed data entry, verify insurance information, and effectively resolve claim rejections.
• Prepare, label, and package medications for pharmacist approval, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Maintain comprehensive inventory records, complete cycle counts, and manage medication returns.
• Handle inbound and outbound patient calls along with prescriber requests with professionalism.
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and CCS compliance standards.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager, Pharmacy.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask with strong communication and time management skills.
