IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician | Webster, New York
A reputable infusion pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role focuses on the accurate preparation, fulfillment, inventory control, and quality assurance of sterile compounded medications in a highly regulated setting. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes through meticulous adherence to compliance standards and pharmacy protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, label, and dispense sterile compounded medications following strict aseptic techniques
- Manage inventory and supplies to ensure seamless medication preparation
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, SOPs, and quality assurance processes
- Document all compounding and medication handling activities accurately
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to support patient care
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards in the sterile compounding environment
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in good standing (required)
- Hands-on sterile compounding experience in a regulated pharmacy setting
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills
- Ability to follow SOPs and compliance standards consistently
- Effective organizational and time management abilities
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and accountability
Preferred:
- PTCB Certification
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training or certification program
- Experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, hospital, or IV pharmacy environments
- Background in sterile admixture preparation and inventory control
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM (Day Shift)
