Retail Pharmacy Technician - Westerville, OH

An experienced Pharmacy Technician is sought for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Westerville, OH, to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on providing complex medication regimens. This role is critical for patients managing multiple chronic conditions who require personalized care and clear communication.

The ideal candidate has retail and specialty pharmacy technician experience, with a strong grasp of the top 200-400 medications commonly dispensed in retail settings. Exceptional patient communication skills and patience are essential, as many patients are managing advanced chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients, often with low literacy, will enhance your success in this role.

Location:

• Westerville, OH

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients taking complex regimens (8-15 medications daily)
• Provide compassionate, clear communication tailored to patients with chronic disease states and potential literacy challenges
• Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx preferred; training available)
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Follow all regulatory requirements and safety standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proven retail or specialty pharmacy technician background
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with vulnerable patient populations
• Familiarity with complex medication regimens and chronic disease management
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
