Pharmacy Technician | Worcester, Massachusetts

A remote opportunity is available for experienced Pharmacy Technicians with strong Medicare Part B knowledge to join a leading healthcare service provider on a temp-to-hire basis. This position requires Pharmacy Technicians with a valid PTCB certification and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, especially in utilization management, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations supporting the Medicare population.

Location: Remote (Open to candidates anywhere)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 11:30 AM 8:00 PM ET and 9:30 AM 6:00 PM ET (rotating shifts)
• Mandatory rotating weekends
• No days off from January 1, 2027, through March 31, 2027, except emergencies

Responsibilities:

• Review and process prior authorization requests according to established policies and decision trees
• Triage and enter incoming prior authorization requests from provider offices
• Support Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies
• Collaborate with provider offices and hospitals to obtain necessary clinical documentation
• Communicate authorization decisions and follow up with providers and members
• Assist members and providers with alternative treatment options as needed
• Provide operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to ensure timely and accurate decisions
• Serve as a primary contact for internal teams, external providers, and operational partners
• Support offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management pharmacy workflows
• Interpret plan benefits and manage specialty pharmacy overrides to support claim adjudication

Qualifications:

• PTCB certification required
• At least 3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience with Medicare Part B operations, utilization management, prior authorizations, or pharmacy help desk environments
• Familiarity with the Medicare population and associated pharmacy benefits
• Proficient computer skills, comfortable navigating multiple systems and using Google Workspace/G Suite
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Prior experience with utilization management and prior authorizations is strongly preferred
