Per Diem Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist - Apex, North Carolina

This position offers per diem work as a home infusion pharmacist providing vital pharmaceutical services in a specialized pharmacy environment. The role involves Monday through Friday coverage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, specifically from July 29 through August 5, supporting the safe and accurate preparation and delivery of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) and medical supplies.

Primary responsibilities include verifying pharmaceutical products entering the clean room for sterile compounding, conducting final checks on CSPs including labels and drug amounts, and ensuring all outgoing shipments match delivery tickets. Effective communication with physicians offices, field nurses, and patients about medication regimens, inventory, and any observed issues such as drug reactions or abnormal lab results is essential. Responsibilities also include patient follow-up to coordinate deliveries, monitor drug adherence, and report concerns to management. Interaction with healthcare providers and nursing agencies via phone adds to the collaborative nature of this role.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy or Masters degree preferred) from an accredited institution
• Current license as a registered pharmacist in North Carolina
• Minimum two years recent acute care experience or at least one year in home infusion therapy
• Proficient knowledge and experience with intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy
• Familiarity with CPR+ software is mandatory
