LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Ayden, North Carolina
This opportunity is seeking an experienced pharmacist ready to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. The role operates days, Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm, with occasional Saturday shifts during the 13-week contract. There is potential for this position to convert to direct hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential over-usage concerns.
- Maintain confidential patient and pharmacy records with precision.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer medication-related questions.
- Provide clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose monitors and blood pressure cuffs.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to address drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina pharmacy license required.
- Previous pharmacy experience essential.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with ability to educate and advise patients and healthcare teams.
- Leadership capabilities to oversee pharmacy staff contributions.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9am 6pm
- Some Saturdays, 9am 6pm
