Pharmacist in Bad Axe, MI

A full-time pharmacist position is available that offers a unique opportunity to serve both retail and hospital inpatient pharmacy settings. This role is ideal for a pharmacist interested in diversifying their skills while working at two closely situated locations, just a block apart.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• Four days per week, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
• One weekday off
• Rotating weekends
• Split time: 70% retail pharmacy, 30% hospital inpatient pharmacy

Primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and standards while reviewing medication orders for accuracy, allergies, and drug interactions. The role involves admixing intravenous medications using established formulas, responding to inquiries from patients and staff, and maintaining confidentiality in all professional activities.

The retail pharmacy uses Pioneer RX software, and the hospital pharmacy operates on CPSI, transitioning to EPIC in November. Daily prescription volume is approximately 250, including servicing local adult foster care and long-term care facilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE
• Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan
• Experience in hospital pharmacy or a strong willingness to learn in this area
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
