Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Baton Rouge, LA

This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacist to support inpatient hospital operations on the 2nd shift. The setting includes a 131-bed inpatient hospital with an active census averaging 60 to 70 patients, providing a dynamic work environment. The position is contract to hire, initially for 13 weeks with potential for extension or direct hire. There are 3 to 4 openings available.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday, 12:30pm to 9:00pm
• Rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify medications in an inpatient hospital setting
• Accurately enter medication orders using Epic
• Utilize automation systems such as Pyxis to support medication distribution
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies

Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana pharmacy license required
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice
• Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems is a plus; training available to qualified candidates
• Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment skills
