Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Baton Rouge, LA

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist interested in supporting inpatient hospital care within a busy medical environment. The position involves working with a patient census averaging 60 to 70 active beds in a facility with a total of 131 beds. You will rotate between first and second shifts, providing medication management and verifying prescriptions to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Dispensing and verifying inpatient medications in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Utilizing Epic for order entry and medication management.
• Managing automated dispensing systems, including Pyxis.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy and patient outcomes.
• Participating in rotating weekend shifts to maintain continuous pharmacy support.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Louisiana pharmacy license.
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Epic is preferred; however, training will be provided.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM) Monday through Friday, including rotating weekends.
