A retail pharmacist position is available on a PRN / per diem basis to provide temporary coverage in Birmingham, AL, starting November 1, 2026. This assignment is expected to last approximately two months, with potential for additional coverage depending on needs. Flexible scheduling will be arranged based on pharmacist availability, with specific shifts coordinated once a candidate is selected.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and patient safety
  • Provide patient counseling and address medication-related questions
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians during shifts
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations while on duty
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Active Alabama pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
  • Minimum of 2 years recent retail pharmacy experience required
  • Experience with PioneerRx software is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to work independently in a retail pharmacy environment
