Staff Pharmacist in Birmingham, AL

A retail pharmacy is seeking a PRN / Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to provide temporary coverage in Birmingham, AL. This contract assignment is scheduled to begin November 1, 2026, and will last approximately two months, with the possibility of extending coverage. The pharmacist will cover periodic shifts during the regular pharmacists absence.

Schedule:

• Monday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
• Saturday & Sunday: Closed
  *Shift dates and times will be coordinated based on your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and patient safety
• Provide counseling and answer medication-related questions for patients
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to manage daily pharmacy operations
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Operate independently while maintaining high standards in a retail pharmacy setting

Qualifications:

• Active Alabama Pharmacist license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years recent retail pharmacy experience
• Experience with PioneerRx preferred but not required
• Strong ability to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced retail setting
