This position offers a unique opportunity to work as a Staff Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. The role requires expertise in managing prescription medications while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance. The contract-to-hire assignment is based in Broken Arrow, OK, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, spanning approximately 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage or legal concerns.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines and maintain confidential patient records meticulously.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related inquiries.
  • Offer additional patient services, including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring.
  • Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound sterile medications following established protocols for both internal and external use.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Oklahoma pharmacy license.
  • Proven experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 4:00 PM
