Home Infusion Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Broken Arrow, OK

A pharmacy professional is needed for a Staff Pharmacist position focusing on sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. This contract-to-hire role is based in Broken Arrow, OK, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM over a 13-week period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse.
• Ensure medication supply adheres to legal requirements.
• Verify the appropriateness of prescribed medicines for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records.
• Provide detailed counseling to patients regarding their medications, including dosage, side effects, and administration.
• Offer consultation on prescription and non-prescription drugs, addressing storage and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related patient issues and ensure optimal medication use.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Active Oklahoma pharmacy license.
• Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
• Preferred experience in sterile compounding.
