Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Brookfield, WI

This opportunity calls for a skilled pharmacist to support long-term care and mail-order pharmacy services. The position is a 13-week contract-to-hire role based in Brookfield, WI, with consistent hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including one weekend shift per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and usage patterns to ensure legal and safe supply.
• Verify suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
• Advise patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer related inquiries.
• Provide consultations on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including proper storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for both internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions adhering to proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories efficiently.
• Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Wisconsin pharmacy license.
• Experience in pharmacy practice, with long-term care experience considered an advantage.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM (second shift)
