Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist - Burlington, NC

A hospital-based clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract-to-hire position in Burlington, NC. This role supports inpatient medication management within a dynamic hospital environment, utilizing advanced technology including Epic EHR and Omnicell automated dispensing systems. The position offers a 13-week initial assignment with potential for direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote optimal medication therapies by applying drug dosing protocols and reviewing lab results.
• Interpret and verify provider-entered medication orders to ensure suitability for individualized patient care.
• Prepare and dispense medications efficiently, adhering to established standards and organizational policies.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in all pharmacy-related operations.
• Document clinical care daily through progress notes or pharmacy handoffs.
• Provide medication-related information and consultations to healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
• Support hospitalist provider teams with transitions of care and medication management.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday with rotating 1st and 2nd shifts over a 6-week cycle:
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
• Rotation includes every 4th weekend.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficient with EPIC EHR and Omnicell dispensing technology.
• Strong clinical pharmacy critical thinking skills.

Required Qualifications:

• PharmD Degree; postgraduate training is preferred.
• Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) is a plus.
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
• Must hold an active North Carolina pharmacy license.
