Long Term Care Pharmacist - Butler, PA
A long-term care pharmacist opportunity is available on a contract basis, offering a 1-month assignment with potential for extension. This role is ideal for a pharmacist licensed in Pennsylvania seeking to apply their expertise in a specialized pharmacy setting supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care providers.
Location: Butler, PA
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy Hours: MondayFriday 8:00 AM6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care facilities and hospice
- Check packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians; provide clinical guidance
- Perform controlled substance counts and maintain perpetual inventory documentation
- Inspect and manage emergency medication boxes ensuring compliance and readiness
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania and in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience; long-term care experience preferred
- Proficiency with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
- Physical ability to sit, stand, utilize fine motor skills, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
