Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Butler, PA
A long-term care pharmacist opportunity is available on a contract-to-hire basis, offering 40 hours per week in a dynamic pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will provide essential pharmaceutical services for skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice patients.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and approve medication orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care and hospice clients.
- Check blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile compounds.
- Respond to clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians.
- Accurately count controlled substances and maintain perpetual inventory records.
- Inspect and replenish emergency medication boxes as needed.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Bachelors degree in pharmacy.
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of one year pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred.
- Proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy operating systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, utilizing fine motor skills, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Strong visual acuity to ensure accuracy in medication verification.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
