LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Carrollton, Texas
This opportunity seeks a dedicated pharmacist to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy services during the second shift. Working Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am with rotating weekends, this role offers an 8-week contract-to-hire engagement with potential for permanent placement.
Key responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal standards and appropriateness of prescribed medicines. You will monitor patient medication adherence, identify drug-related issues, and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Maintaining confidential patient records accurately and advising patients about medication usage, side effects, and interactions are essential duties. The role also involves patient education on medical devices, compounding medications, preparing sterile solutions, and supervising pharmacy technicians and clerks.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Valid Texas Pharmacy license
- IV certification
- Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in both front-end and back-end pharmacist verification processes
- Self-directed and efficient in locating and processing orders
- Excellent IT troubleshooting capabilities
