IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist - Cary, North Carolina

This opportunity calls for a skilled pharmacist with expertise in sterile compounding to manage and support home infusion therapies in a dynamic setting. Working primarily Monday through Friday on rotating day shifts (8:00 AM5:00 PM, 8:30 AM5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM6:00 PM), this role also requires availability for on-call, weekend, and evening coverage. This 17-week contract to hire position offers a pathway to direct employment in an environment focused on patient-centered home infusion care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage home infusion therapies through clinical oversight, sterile compounding, and operational workflow support using CPR+ software.
• Review referrals for drug appropriateness, dosages, and routes, complete new patient starts and refills, perform medication reconciliation, and provide patient counseling.
• Monitor lab-dependent therapies and coordinate care with providers and nursing staff.
• Accurately enter prescriptions, document all activities, handle claim adjudication, and prepare sterile compounded medications with proper labeling, lot tracking, and compliance with USP standards.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support production and delivery workflows.
• Maintain inventory and ensure timely, safe medication dispensing and delivery within a fast-paced home infusion environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in sterile compounding is essential.
• Prior home infusion experience is preferred.
• Valid North Carolina pharmacy license required.
• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems, specifically CPR+, is highly desirable.
