IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist - Chapel Hill, North Carolina
An opportunity is available for a pharmacist skilled in sterile compounding to support home infusion therapies within a dynamic healthcare setting. This contract-to-hire role is based in Chapel Hill, NC, offering a 17-week assignment with potential for direct hire. The position requires working within a home infusion environment using the CPR+ computer system.
Schedule and Shift:
- Monday to Friday rotating shifts: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM 6:00 PM
- On-call, including weekends and evenings
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage home infusion therapies through clinical oversight, sterile compounding, and operational workflow support utilizing CPR+
- Review patient referrals for appropriateness regarding drug selection, dosage, route, and lab monitoring
- Initiate new patient therapy starts, process refills, complete medication reconciliation, and provide patient counseling
- Monitor lab-dependent therapies and coordinate care with healthcare providers and nursing staff
- Accurately enter prescriptions, document activities, and adjudicate claims in compliance with regulatory standards
- Prepare and verify sterile compounded medications ensuring correct labeling, lot tracking, and adherence to USP guidelines
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support production and delivery workflows
- Maintain inventory and ensure safe, timely medication dispensing and delivery in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in sterile compounding is required
- Home infusion experience is preferred
- Must hold an active North Carolina pharmacy license
