Oncology Inpatient Staff Pharmacist | Chicago, Illinois

A clinical hospital staff pharmacist position is available for a 13-week contract, with the potential for extension. This role operates within an inpatient hospital environment, providing critical pharmacy services to support patient care. The position offers a rotating schedule between first and second shifts, including weekends to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Responsibilities include:

• Dispensing medications accurately and safely within a hospital inpatient setting
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy, particularly in oncology cases
• Utilizing Cerner electronic medical records for order verification and medication management
• Monitoring patient responses and providing clinical consultation as needed
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois pharmacy license is required
• Strong clinical inpatient pharmacy experience is highly desired
• Experience in oncology pharmacy practice is preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends

Schedule:

• Rotating first shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
• Rotating second shift: 2:30 PM 10:00 PM
• Weekend rotations required
