LTC Staff Pharmacist - Chicora, Pennsylvania

Provide expert pharmaceutical care as a Long Term Care Pharmacist in a fast-paced, supportive setting. This contract opportunity, located in Chicora, PA, offers a dynamic role focusing on skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. Over the course of a 1-month assignment with possible extension, you will contribute significantly to patient health and medication safety.

Schedule/Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Saturday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Sunday 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and approve medication orders entered by data entry technicians for long term care patients
• Review blister-packed and both sterile and non-sterile medications for accuracy and safety
• Respond professionally to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions
• Count and document controlled substances accurately in the perpetual inventory system
• Conduct thorough checks of emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness
• Utilize QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems efficiently to manage pharmaceutical tasks

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license registered in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; long term care experience preferred
• Capable of sitting, standing, and performing tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity
• Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds
